Photography at Waskesiu
By: Author: J Bakken

The world is full of beautiful places to photograph, but one of my favorite places to photograph in Saskatchewan is Waskesiu in the northern part of the province located within Prince Albert National Park . The opportunities are endless for the avid nature photographer: the huge lake, flowers, trees, animals, and much more. Every season holds its own beauty and there are numerous opportunities for capturing some great photos in spring, summer, fall, or winter.
Capturing the flora and fauna is a favorite among nature enthusiasts. There are wildflowers one can take pictures of when walking or sight seeing, and you never know when you will come into the vicinity of a loon or deer to snap a photo of.
Waskesiu is well known for its year round outdoor activity opportunities. For example, you can record some great shots while fishing, boating, swimming, golfing, and much more. Taking action shots in this beautiful Saskatchewan playground is guaranteed to yield some incredible photographs.
One of my favorite places at Waskesiu to take photographs of is the lake at sunset when walking on the paved trail right by the beach. You just never know when a mother duck and her ducklings will come swimming by, and you will always recognize the cry of the loon as it goes swimming by. Another place is at the marina on the north side of the lake. You can reach this side by road or by boat and there are great picnic spots nearby that offer both a lunch and photographic opportunity.
Taking photographs of an area such as Waskesiu makes one want to visit it again, so the pictures can easily be used in marketing. Areas where they could be used are billboards, brochures, travel magazines, and much more.
It is easy and enjoyable to take photographs of our favorite places, so the next time you visit a new locale or one of your favorites, be sure to stop and capture the beauty of the place with your camera. Then, you can revisit it again and again each time you look at the photographs.
