Photography at Reedan Ranch
By: Author: J Bakken
The world is full of beautiful places to photograph, but one of my favorite
places to photograph in Saskatchewan is Reedan Ranch in the northeast part
of the province just off the Hanson Lake Road. The opportunities are endless
for the avid nature photographer: creeks, rivers, flowers, trees, animals,
and much more. Every season holds its own beauty and there are numerous
opportunities for capturing some great photos in spring, summer, fall, or
winter.
Capturing the flora and fauna is a favorite among nature enthusiasts. There
are wildflowers one can take pictures of when walking or horseback riding,
and you never know when you will come into the vicinity of a bear or
whitetail deer to snap a photo of if you are a safe distance away.
Reedan Ranch is on its way to becoming well known for its year round outdoor
activity opportunities. For example, you can record some great shots while
going on a one hour or an overnight horseback ride, fishing, hunting,
snowmobiling, and much more. Taking action shots in this beautiful
playground is guaranteed to yield some incredible photographs.
Some of my favorite places at Reedan Ranch to take photographs of are the
creek that runs behind the cabins. You just never know when a mother duck
and her ducklings will come swimming by. Another place is at Moose Lake;
this hidden little lake is breathtaking. This lake can be reached on a
morning, afternoon, or evening ride from the ranch. A third location is of
the horses as they frolic in the outdoors. One can get some great shots of
these majestic animals in any season.
Taking photographs of an area such as Reedan Ranch makes one want to visit
it again, so the pictures can easily be used in marketing. Areas where they
could be used are billboards, brochures, travel magazines, and much more.
It is easy and enjoyable to take photographs of our favorite places, so the
next time you visit a new locale or one of your favorites, be sure to stop
and capture the beauty of the place with your camera. Then, you can revisit
it again and again each time you look at the photographs.
