Photography at Jasper National Park
By: Author: J Bakken
The world is full of beautiful places to photograph, but one of my favorite
places to photograph in Alberta is Jasper National Park in the north west
part of the province. The opportunities are endless for the avid
photographer: mountains, lakes, rivers, flowers, wildlife, and much more.
Every season holds its own beauty and there are numerous opportunities for
capturing some great photos in spring, summer, fall, or winter.
Capturing the flora and fauna is a favorite among nature enthusiasts. There
are many wildflowers one can take pictures of when hiking, and you never
know when you will come into the vicinity of an elk or bighorn sheep to snap
a photo of if you are a safe distance away.
Jasper National Park is well known for its year round outdoor activity
opportunities. For example, you can record some great shots while white
water rafting, hiking, skiing, biking, horseback riding, and much more.
Taking action shots in this beautiful playground is guaranteed to yield some
incredible photographs.
One of my favorite places within Jasper National Park to take photographs of
is Maligne Canyon. One can go hiking here and capture some breathtaking
photographs. Another place is further up the road at Maligne Lake. The views
here are breathtaking and it is easy to see why scenes here are some of the
most popular in the world. A third location is at Pyramid Lake. One can get
some great shots of the lake, the little island you can get to by walking
across the bridge, and the mountains that surround it.
Taking photographs of an area such as Jasper National Park makes one want to
visit it again, so the pictures can easily be used in marketing. Areas where
they could be used are billboards, brochures, travel magazines, postcards,
and much more.
It is easy and enjoyable to take photographs of our favorite places, so the
next time you visit a new locale or one of your favorites, be sure to stop
and capture the beauty of the place with your camera. Then, you can revisit
it again and again each time you look at the photographs.
