Photography and Gift Giving
By: Author: J Bakken
The opportunities for photography for personalized gifts are endless. You
can take pictures of flowers, pets, friends, family, vacations, special
occasions such as birthdays, and much more. Not to mention the opportunities
for capturing special moments spent during the holidays.
The secrets to capturing some brilliant photographs for gift giving are
being at the right place at the right time and catching a unique shot. For
example, you do not want to have the subject so small or far away in the
picture that you can hardly see them, so pay attention to where you stand
when taking the photos. Also, if you want some variety in your gifts,
photograph your subjects at different angles: from up above, from down
below, laying down, etc.
If you are wanting to get the best possible pictures to give away as gifts,
be picky. Snap more than just one picture so you have some to choose from.
Be sure to select the right setting on your camera, as well. For example, if
you want to capture some great shots of a friend's son or daughter running
through the sprinkler on a summer day in their backyard, set your camera
setting on 'sports' or 'action' shots so they do not turn out blurry.
Again, taking pictures from different perspectives makes all the difference.
Try taking pictures of people or pets from up above, or pictures of flowers
where you focus on just half the flower. These various angles make for
interesting and unique photographs. Variety is the spice of life and we must
remember this in our photography. Get pictures of people walking away when
they are oblivious to you taking pictures for a very unique perspective.
Pictures can speak volumes and ones such as these will be treasured by the
recipients.
Finally, remember to have fun with your camera and with your photographs.
These pictures represent your creativity and, therefore, represent you.
Capturing the simple things in life with your digital or film camera reminds
us to take time to stop and smell the roses, and photographing them and
giving them away as gifts is one of the most thoughtful things we can do for
those we care about.
