Photography and Card Making
By: Author: J Bakken
The opportunities for photography for making cards are endless. You can take
pictures of flowers, animals, babies, children, scenes from your vacations,
special occasions such as birthdays, and much more. Not to mention the
opportunities for capturing special moments spent during the holidays.
The secrets to capturing some brilliant photographs for making cards are
being close enough and being at the right angle. For example, you do not
want to have the subject so small or far away in the picture that you can
hardly see them, so pay attention to where you stand when taking the photos.
Also, if you want some variety in your cards, photograph your subjects at
different angles: from up above, from down below, laying down, etc.
If you are wanting to get the best possible pictures for your cards, be
picky. Snap more than just one picture so you have some to choose from. Be
sure to select the right setting on your camera, as well. For example, if
you want to capture some great shots of flowers or petals close up, be sure
to set your camera on 'macro' before you take the picture so it isn't
blurry.
Again, taking pictures from different perspectives makes all the difference.
Try taking pictures of animals from up above, or pictures of flowers where
you focus on just half the flower. These various angles make for interesting
and unique photographs. Variety is the spice of life and we must remember
this in our photography. Get pictures of just a child's feet as they are
standing on the dock at your cabin at the lake during summer holidays for a
totally unique perspective. Pictures can speak volumes and ones such as
these will shout fun and frolic in your cards.
Finally, remember to have fun with your camera and with your cards. These
pictures represent you and your creativity and, therefore, represent what
you enjoy. Capturing the simple things in life with your digital or film
camera reminds us to take time to stop and smell the roses, and photograph
and preserve them in creative ways.
