Photographing Maritime Scenes
By: Author: J Bakken
Maritime scenes are a popular part of Canada to photograph. The key to
capturing their beauty is being quick enough to catch the glorious colours
and light at dawn or dusk before the sun sets or rises too quickly, or
catching that fishing boat going by in just the right light, or capturing
that lighthouse in the bright sunlight before someone goes to stand in front
of it.
Maritime scenery photographs can include the Atlantic Ocean, lighthouses,
lupines, red sandy beaches, and much more. The colours can range from the
vivid hues of the daytime to the subtle colours of dawn or dusk. Whatever
time of day you capture a picture, they all hold their own beauty.
Maritime scene photographs can also include people and they are popular
among vacation photography. Catching a lone fisherman as he checks his
lobster traps at sunset can be an award winning photograph. Or catching a
little boy as he bends down in just his swimming trunks to pick up a sea
shell can be priceless.
Maritime scene photography often features whales, seals, puffins, lobsters
and more . Maritime scene photography often features a combination of
natural beauty and man made structures or elements, such as lighthouses, and
this combination can really work.
Martime scene photography is an enjoyable past-time that captures the beauty
of nature and the lifestyle of Eastern Canada and every beach, lighthouse,
and lobster is different which adds to the uniqueness of every Maritime
scene photograph.
