Photographing Animals
By: Author: J Bakken
Animals are a popular natural wonder to photograph. The key to capturing
their beauty is being quick enough to photograph them before they see or
hear you if you are in the wild, or before they start to play with you if
they are tame.
Animal photographs can include both wild and tame animals. Pet photography
includes kittens and cats, puppies and dogs, colts and horses, among the
most popular. Wildlife photography ranges from bears and deer in North
America to elephants and lions in South Africa. Every animal, no matter
where it is photographed, holds its own beauty.
Animal photographs can also include people and they are popular among family
portraits. Catching a young boy playing with his new puppy can be an award
winning photograph. Or catching a yellow lab asleep in a patch of pumpkins
is a brilliant contrast of gold and orange.
Animal photography in Canada is as popular here as anywhere on earth.
Wildlife photography on the prairies often features deer, antelope, moose,
elk, fox, and in the north, bears. Depending on where you travel in the
world determines the type of animals you have to photograph.
Animal photography is an enjoyable past-time that captures the beauty of
nature and can be done anywhere, on a hike in the wilderness or in your own
backyard, which adds to its uniqueness.
