Floral photography can include wildflowers and those grown in your own backyard. Nothing beats a photograph of a wildflower with dew on it. The brilliant colours and amazing variety make floral photography an exciting art form. Photographers never seem to tire of capturing the perfect picture of a wildflower on a hike or a bouquet picked from your own backyard. Don’t even get me started on the photographic opportunities with flowers available from a florist shop. Whether a photo is of a bride holding her bouquet or a little girl smelling a daisy, flowers add innocence and beauty to any picture. Tulips at the Ottawa Tulip Festival are a photographer’s paradise. One is simply amazed at the lavender lupines growing wild in the Maritimes. Alberta’s wildflowers are popular for greeting cards. Thousands of calendars are printed each year featuring flowers alone! Floral photography is and will remain a very popular art form.
